International Women's Day
International W omen's Day started back around 1911 to celebrate women throughout the world and to appreciate their spirit, drive and desire to be treated equally. I started to think off all the women that I have admired throughout my life and I wrote a number of the names down below. I realized that I had one heck of a list working and thought I would share it. So who have I forgotten? I'm sure so many inspirational women have been left off of this list. I would love to see who you think should be added. So, which women have inspired YOU in your life?

Stifel & Capra
Stifel and Capra has the coolest concept and delivery of a shop. Not only is in the glorious historic white house that graces Broad Street just one block away from us at New to You, but Theresa has polished and painted the grand dame so she looks lovely and light.
There is a fun variety of jewelry, vintage clothing and bric-a-brack; as well as some beautiful paintings and photographs from local artists.
Liz and I popped over to say hello and low and behold we both found something we just had to have. I purchased a lovely green necklace for my daughter and Liz bought some fab turquoise dishes for her retro kitchen.
As always, a small town can bring all sorts of delightful talents together to titillate the taste of various shoppers.
We understand that there will also be some workshop classes to be taught as well as an artists' studio upstairs.
Congratulations and job well done.
You can find Stifel & Capra at 260 West Broad Street, Falls Church, Va 22046

St. Patrick's Day
How to Avoid those pesky pinchers!
-Even if your closet isn't full of wearable green pieces
If you can't find the perfect green frock, incorporate shades of green into your beauty regime for the day! We understand it seems a bit risky, as green makeup tends to bring scary images of Poison Ivy and senile old ladies! However given the many different products and variety of formulas from sheer to shimmery to bright concentrated pigments, not to mention the large spectrum of clover - inspired shades to choose from, it's actually simple to incorporate green into your makeup routine no matter how subtle or striking you'd like the look to be. Bolder beauties can slick a sparkly green nail polish, or even attempt to pull off a green- tinted lip-gloss, and another option would be to try a smokey eye effect with a dark green eyeshadow!
